Dali

Dali is an old town and major tourist attraction located just under 200 miles West of Kunming. It is the first stop on the ever popular Dali - Lijiang - Tiger Leaping Gorge - Zhongdian circuit favored by some many travelers. The old town is surrounded by an ancient wall with traditional gates. It has a beautiful mountain backdrop to the West and the large Erhai Lake to the East. I spent a few extra days here on some excellent tours of the nearby villages and lake.
