Zhongdian

Sitting high at 10,500 feet in the Northwest corner of Yunnan, Zhongdian marks the start of the Tibetan world. Populated mainly by Tibetans and Han, this town is the last stop for those traveling west to Tibet or North into the mountainous Western Sichuan. The town is known for its Tibetan monasteries and mountain landscape. Unfortunately, wet and cold weather forced me to leave early, leaving me with only a taste of this mysterious place.
